Principal's Message

Mr. Nicholas

Matthew Nicholas
Principal

The 2019-2020 school year is here, and I’d like to welcome students into the newly consolidated elementary school. I’d like to introduce myself as the Carrollton Elementary School Principal. I am a 1998 graduate of Carrollton High School, a 2004 graduate of Baldwin-Wallace College, and a 2008 graduate of Eastern Kentucky University. My family and I have lived in the Carrollton area since returning in 2011. Prior to 2011, my wife, Cassandra, and I lived and taught in Kentucky and Florida. Cassandra also works for Carrollton Schools as a Family Support Specialist. We are committed to the school district and Carroll County community wholeheartedly. We have three beautiful children, all of whom are current elementary students. Prior to being CES Principal, I was the principal of Bell-Herron Middle School for six years, and I am excited to serve the students and families of CES in this new role.

I am very excited for the start of the 2019-2020 school year. I hope you and your student are ready and excited for this new year and new opportunities. As you are probably aware, there have been many changes to the Carrollton Exempted Village School District. These changes have made Carrollton Schools stronger and more effective than ever. We hope that you are patient with us as we work out the kinks of these many changes throughout this school year.

Drop off and pick up times will be as follows:

  • Doors Open 8:30
  • Breakfast 8:30-8:45
  • Student Tardy 8:45
  • End of Day 3:15
  • Pick up starts at 3:15

*Please note: the drop-off and pick up locations are different than they have been in the past.

The CES staff and I are very excited to have your child(ren) this school year. We have been preparing for this school year for quite some time now. If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to email me at matthew.nicholas@carrolltonschools.org or call the office at 330.627.4592.
