Carrollton Elementary Rated Excellent With Distinction By The Ohio Department of Education!
Carrollton Elementary School
252 Third St. NE
Carrollton, OH 44615

Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

The staff at Carrollton Elementary School would like to welcome everyone back for the 2011 – 2012 school year.

The 2010 – 2011 Ohio Department of Education local school report card rated Carrollton Elementary School as “Excellent with Distinction.” This is the first time our school has been rated this high. Our students met 100% of indicators, met adequate yearly progress, and also met value added growth. Our success is due to the hard work of our students, staff, and parents.

Our focus as a staff this school year will be a major emphasis on academics, character education, increased parental involvement within the school, community involvement, and providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience.

Our children at CES have been learning and demonstrating leadership qualities within the building. For example, some of our fifth graders lead by example volunteering as buddies with our kindergarten children at lunch time. All students are learning about inside voices and proper table etiquette in the cafeteria. If the voice level of the students becomes loud within the cafeteria, an adult on duty will raise his/her hand to bring the noise level down. As a staff, we will be training any interested fifth graders in saying the morning announcements on the PA system. All children in grades K – 5 are working hard academically and learning to take pride in themselves, others, and Carrollton Elementary School.

An ancient African proverb states, “It takes a village to raise a child.” The staff at Carrollton Elementary believes this is true, and as the new school year starts, we look forward to working with the students, the parents and the community.
