This Saturday the Warriors shined bright at the Indoor State Championships at the University of Akron. The day started off with indoor school records in the girls and boys 4x8 as the girls shaved 20 seconds off last year's time and finished 3rd in 9:42 behind the efforts of Micah Donley, Grace Bartlow, Allison Davis and Maddie Dunlap. The race of the day was next as Cole Lovett brought the Warriors from 6 seconds back in the last leg to WIN the 4x8 State Championship. The team of Dan Lampe, Quinton Huggett, Preston Berry, and Cole ran 806.3 and also qualified to the New Balance Indoor National Championship with their time. All 8 Warrior relay athletes ran their fastest times of their lives on an indoor track on the day it mattered the most!
Alivia Bentley also smashed her own school record and popped a 43-3 throw that earned her a state runner up placing, as did Maddie Dunlap's 3200 performance of 10:59. Maddie was also runner up in the event last year. Micah notched another 3rd place All Ohio honor in the 400 as well.
Earning valuable state meet experience were Kody Schandel, Bri Burkhart, Cindy Lewis, Jillian Rinkes, Chase Flanagan, Ryan Shepherd and Calob Dalton.
